LEADERSHIP REFLECTIONS 87

Never make the mistake of thinking that because you have a great vision and good intentions that the people you are leading will just follow you. Having great vision is one thing and having people to follow you is another things altogether.

Until the people understand the vision and are clear with your intentions for doing all that you do, it will appear you are a one man squad. Pioneer Leaders die in isolation because they fail to make the vision plain enough for proper understanding of what it will take to actualize it.

It is important to know how to concentrate it, how to husband it, how to focus it on important things instead of frittering it away on trivia.  Singleness of purpose is one of the chief essentials for success in life, no matter what may be one's aim.  The giants of the race have been men of concentration, who have struck sledge-hammer blows in one place until...

LEADERSHIP REFLECTIONS 64

As leadership continues to evolve, Pioneer Leaders must recognize that things ought to be done differently in order for him to leverage on the abilities of the people he is leading, such that problem solving requires his ingenuity and those of the people put together. Although, modern leadership mainly focuses of the ingenuity of the leader, postmodern leadership focuses on the Collective Ingenuity of the players of the cycle of leadership. For effective leadership, the pioneer leader must not be the only cock crowing. Elvis C. Umez Leadership Consultant School of Leadership Development (SOLD) IDB Consult
